Backup your files in real-time

RTMirror is a folder mirroring application that lets you specify one or more folders on your local hard disk. As soon as you modify files in those folders, RTMirror will silently copy them to a different folder on another hard disk or another networked computer.

RTMirror has been designed to add a security layer to your backup strategy. Even if you are one of the few people that make a backup copy of their work every day, you are still exposed to a loss of data in case of a disk failure: in the worst case you will lose the work of an entire day. Of course if you are not so diligent with your backups you are exposed to the danger of a bigger data loss.

RTMirror works in real time: as soon as a file is created or modified, it is automatically copied within a minute. We have chosen to leave this small delay in order to optimize the application’s performance.
In case of a failure of your primary hard disk you will be able to restore all your important files from the backup copies created by RTMirror: you will not lose more than one minute of your work!

RTMirror requires Windows 2000, Windows XP or later. It will not work with Windows 98 or Windows ME.
It also requires the Microsoft .NET Framework. You can find detailed information about the system requirements in the download page.

Please note that RTMirror has not been designed as a backup replacement. We recommend that you make regular backups of your work since they are invaluable in case of disk failure. We recommend that you use RTMirror together with a good backup strategy in order to reduce the risk of data loss to its minimum.

How does it work?

RTMirror IS NOT an application that sometimes wakes up and copies all modified files: this solution consumes system resources and cannot work in real time.
RTMirror IS NOT a device driver: it will not interfere in any way with your operating system.
RTMirror IS an application that waits silently. Every time that you modify a file, Windows will tell it to RTMirror, and RTMirror will copy it to another folder.

Respect for your computer

RTMirror has been designed with one thing in mind: respect for your computer.

Many applications use components that are shared with Windows and with other applications. When you install (and specially when you uninstall) such an application sometimes these common components are improperly updated or removed by a bad setup program. The result is that other applications mysteriously stop working and this kind of problems is difficult to fix.

RTMirror does not use shared components and it will not install anything outside its own folders, so you can be sure that Windows and all your applications will keep working without problems.
